Google appears to know deal with or obey the RateLimit Header Fields for HTTP. Mike Blazer requested John Mueller from Google about this and John stated he by no means heard of it, so he assumes Google Search doesn’t deal with it.
Mike Blazer requested, “Is Google respecting the “x-ratelimit-limit” HTTP header when crawling web sites?”
John Mueller replied, “I’ve by no means heard of it, so I assume that is a solution :-). We doc HTTP 429 & 503 for requesting slow-downs.”
