Google Adverts has modified what they name broad match to intent match in Japan. So now it’s referred to as インテントマッチ (Intent Match), it was referred to as 部分一致 (Partial Match).

I discovered this through Dario Zannoni, which Greg Finn identified on It’s New yesterday, which he discovered through @btob_courtelage. He wrote in Japanese, which I translated utilizing Google Translate to, “Partial match has been modified to “intent match.” The literal translation matches the intent, so it appears nearer to actuality. Nevertheless, if the title modifications when the default for brand new campaigns modifications, there could also be circumstances the place individuals use it with out realizing it. There are not any explicit modifications in performance.”

Right here is the screenshot of the doc change:

Ginny Marvin, Google’s Adverts Liaison, confirmed this can be a change solely in that area and never a change coming to different areas. She wrote on X, “This was an area translation change particular to Japanese solely.”

Greg Finn stated he was a fan of this variation and is hopeful this could additionally come to US and different areas, because it explains the match kind extra precisely.

Listed here are these posts:

#GoogleAds has simply modified how Broad Match key phrases are referred to as in Japan:

NEW title:
インテントマッチ / Intent Match

OLD title
部分一致 / Partial Match

Will we see comparable changes in different languages as effectively? https://t.co/XGZkdY584k
